Trip Report 20/7/2025
Pig Flat Hut
Eight tramping club members plus two guests (& Boots the dog) met up at Holdsworth carpark for a 9am’ish start up the Gentle Annie Track to find and bag Pig Flat Hut. Weather was fresh to start but at least the rain had stopped and held off for the day. Morning tea stop at Rocky Lookout then off to Pig Flat before heading off track. A bit of a bush bash initially but with some assemblance of a footpad and help
of Margaret’s GPS map, we located the “hut” soon enough. Obligatory team photos,
inspection of the interior, filled out the “hut book” before deciding to try a different
route back out. Largely successful but with a bit of bush bash again to regain the
Gentle Annie track before stopping again at Rocky Lookout for lunch sitting in the
sun watching the cloud come and go across the tops.
Continued our leisurely walk back to car park and headed home just after 2pm.
Thanks to Michelle, Nigel, Nathan, Christine, Margaret Mc, Bruce, Monty, Tony
(scribe and trip leader), Boots and special guests Finn and Pratiksha.
