MOUNT BRUCE

Sunday 3rd August

Brenda, Geraldine, Nathan, Josh and Christine

Weather; Cold, overcast.

Our little party headed to Pukaha Mount Bruce carpark to start our walk and explore the Wildlife centre. While paying for our tickets the receptionist said only ½ of the track was available as the ½ half is undergoing maintenance.

Not deter went still went up. Taking our time to admire the trees and their structure with over the years growth.

Reaching the top of the hill it gave views of the Tararua Ranges and we were discussing different tracks and points of interest.

Back at the bottom again and we decided to explore the wildlife centre itself.

Not many birds were out due to the cold breeze, wanting to stay cozy and warm in the nest or boxes but the brave ones that were out and about showing off to us especially the Kaka calling and playing with the follower birds.

After exploring we pop into the cafe for lunch and coffee.

It was a wonderful enjoyable morning as were all home be 2pm
