Cone Hut day trip, 24th March 2024
On a warm sunny day, 6 of us, Nigel, Michelle, Simon, Brent, Merren and Tony set off from Waiohine Gorge campground across the swingbridge and up the hill towards Cone Hut. Accompanying us was Boots the dog who made light work of the walk.
We made it Cone Hut in good time where we stopped for lunch before returning the same way. A good day out for what was Michelle and Simons last Tararua walk before they headed off down south and their return to the States. Lets hope they see
the light and return to resume tramping in our backyard.
