Atiwhakatu Walk

Kia Ora

4 Club members did a quick trip to Atiwhakatu Hut on the morning of the 12th May. It was a cool frosty morning (the best frost so far?!) and there was some white grass lining the road as we headed out. Never mind the temperature though - so members still wore shorts!

On the way to the Hut, Nigel took some waypoints at 200m intervals with a new trapping programme on the horizon. Nigel and David also cleared a small tree (Toro) that had fallen across the track while Margaret and Sandra found some sunshine to keep warm in. The track was reasonably quiet - except for a large group of Scouts - most excited after their sleepless night at the hut.
After a hot cuppa and snack at the hut, we returned via the same track back to Holdsworth carpark. It had warmed up slightly by that stage - the sun streaming through the trees.
