Blue Range 27 December 2020.
The post-Christmas trip to Blue Range was cool, with a threat of showers, good weather for going up hill!
Jason & Nigel met Ben, son’s Bob and Vinny, daughter Scarlet, and Ben’s workmate Scott, who is just getting into tramping, at Kiriwhakapapa car park. With frequent short rest stops the turn off to Cow Creek/Blue Range appeared in no time and it was down to the hut for a cuppa some cake which Jason had carried up, but hadn’t baked.
On checking the rat bait, it had all gone again! Where are all the rats coming from? So they were replaced again.
Then, after once again sweeping out the hut it was down hill and back to Jason’s for another cuppa.
